This is the top section of Yosemite falls which drops 1,400 feet. There's another 2 sections of the waterfall which are hidden in this photo.

I was so lucky during my visit to Yosemite! All the waterfalls in the park were in dramatic full flood due to the exceptionally heavy snowmelt from the previous winter and the water meadow at the bottom of the valley was partially flooded which meant great reflections for photography.

Before the trip to Yosemite I deliberately avoided looking at Ansel Adams work as his photos are so powerful that it would have inevitably affected the way that I viewed the landscape, but I couldn't help feeling that the great man would have really enjoyed this view of the falls.
