Morecambe Bay
Morecambe Bay is a vast 300 km² coastal area of tidal sand, mud flats and salt marshes in the north of England.
It is notorious for its dangerous quicksands and fast moving tides after 23 immigrant cockle pickers were cut off from the shore by the tide and drowned in 2004.
For a period of about three years from 2007 to 2010 Ian was a frequent visitor to the area and fell in love with this beautiful part of the coast.
For anyone interested in landscape photography, the majestic scale of the scenery with its dramatic weather and wonderful light is completely captivating.
