El Partal translates from arabic as "The Portico". This lovely building and its gardens in the Alhambra form part of what remains of the residence of Sultan Yusuf III.

I looked him up on Wiki to get an idea of the age of the building and Yusuf III ruled this part of Granada between the years 1408 to 1417 which makes the building much older than I had expected.
