Vatna Glacier

Vatna Glacier

One of the many glaciers that come down to the coastal plain off Vatnajökull and the Skaftafell National Park.

The Vatna ice cap covers nearly 10% of Iceland.

The black curved line you can see in the ice is a lateral morraine of debris where two glaciers are meeting.
